*Rosa Nutkana / the Nootka Rose*

The Rosa Nutkana, or Nootka Rose, has finally unfurled its blooms around my home and along the driveway. After a patient Spring of waiting, their arrival feels like a gentle reminder that beauty is God’s handwriting upon the earth.

Another one of my favorites—this Cherry Blossom, budding in the early Spring of 2020, was captured at McDowell Nature Center and Preserve near Lake Wylie. A tender sign of renewal, it reminds me that even the smallest blooms carry God’s gentle handwriting in the seasons of our lives.

Meet Nikki—this beloved horse resides just outside the campground at Camp Thunderbird near Lake Wylie, South Carolina. A quiet companion of the fields, she carries a presence that reminds us of God’s gentle artistry in creation.
